The large chrysanthemum motif gives the garment a traditional seasonal reference, while the pale blue palette makes it especially suited to summer styling.
The kimono has been shortened. Removed fabric was retained and made into a matching sash or tie. This should be recorded as a later alteration rather than original construction.
